·            Official opening of the new South Brent Woodland: The 55 acre community woodland, off Palstone and Portford Lanes, in which in which around 25,000 trees will be planted is part of the 65-acre site purchased by South Hams District Council with the support of the Government's Trees for Climate Land Acquisition Fund and in collaboration with the Woodland Trust and Sustainable South Brent (SSB). (The other 10 acres of the site have been given over for SSB's Orchard and Market Garden project (see https://ssb.org.uk/projects/market-garden-orchard/)). The day will involve various activities including some tree planting with  SSBs Hedges and Woodland group.
