The Dartmoor Way and South Devon Steam Railway bike ride (via South Brent), led by Graham Wilson. Join Sustrans and PL21 Transition Town volunteers in Ivybridge, for a Go explore with Sustrans led bike ride to explore the foothills of Dartmoor to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. We will cycle at a modest pace, mostly on the National Cycle Network via South Brent and Shipley Bridge seeing beautiful views towards Dartmoor, passing ancient farms, ancient woodlands and secret river valleys along the route. At the Steam Railway Cafe, we'll stop for refreshments and return on a slightly shorter route. Devon is a land of hills so cyclists need to be reasonably fit for this ride, but don’t worry, no one will be left behind. Please wear suitable clothing for the weather, bring sun protection, waterproofs and something to drink. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. The recommended minimum age for the ride is 12 years. Details:
Meet at the Watermark Centre, Leonard's Road, Ivybridge, PL21 0SZ at 10am (24 mile ride).
Or, meet outside the Post Office, 2 Station Road, South Brent, TQ10 9BE at 11am (15 mile ride).
