South Brent & District Caring offers help where we can - advice, support, befriending calls and transport for medical appointments (including vaccination appointments).

South Brent & District Caring was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) for 2022. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

The Office is in the Old School Community Centre is open - 10am -12 on Tuesday to Friday,

All groups and activities are up and running, but if plans need to change, there will be posts on the Facebook pages and posters outside The Old School Community Centre:

Ø Coffee mornings now held weekly on Mondays (not bank holidays), from 10.30 until 12 noon. Open to everyone (no need to book). Free (suggested donation £1.50).

Ø Lunch Club: Mondays from 12-1.30pm: (4, 11 December) alternating between the traditional lunch club (choose between 2 soups & 2 puddings followed by raffle and sweet) and an informal ‘Cafe lunch club’ on the Mondays in-between (more casual, with pasties, salads, sausage rolls, quiche and ploughman style meals followed by Sue's lemon cake). Monday 11 December is Christmas Lunch from 11.15-3pm - a special Christmas lunch with mulled wine reception, , lunch with all the trimmings and entertainment. Suggested donation £5. Ø ‘FriendsDay Wednesday’ afternoon groups (incorporating the former Memory Cafe) from 2-4pm. All welcome – no need to book.

Ø Compassionate Friends Café – Monthly on the third and fourth Saturday (see above)

Ø Footcare Clinic: - with NHS trained nail cutters, every 6 weeks;, 9.30am to 2.00pm. Costs: £12.50 on first visit (to include own new clippers); £6.50 for toe-nail cutting; £2.50 for finger-nail cutting Please call the office on 01364 700282 for further details or to book an appointment.
